MS evolution PVC windows

MS evolution window is a guardian of your home's comfort and warmth.

MS evolution [passive] is a new line of windows based on the highly rated MS evolution system. Thanks to the innovative SteelPUR® thermal reinforcements, the windows have been certified by the German Window Technology Institute ift Rosenheim for the use in passive buildings.

SteelPUR® thermal reinforcements used with the German 6-chamber uPVC SALAMANDER class A 92mm profiles, not only ensure outstanding insulation parameters, but also provide better rigidity and durability than the traditional steel reinforcements.

MS evolution [passive] windowshave been meticulously tested for durability, air infiltration and thermal insulation, achieving extreme results not achievable for other solutions in similar profile systems. SteelPUR® thermal reinforcement, solution patented by MS beyond WINDOWS, is a reinforcing profile made of polyester-glass composite, steel and PU foam. Steel sections perform the same role as standard steel reinforcements in uPVC windows. They provide rigidity for frame, sash and mullion profiles, and allow for secure fixing of hinges, striker plates, mullions as well as other elements fixed with screws.

The pultruded composite polyester-glass divider, provides enhanced diagonal rigidity of the profile, while not conducting any heat. The PU foam filling insulates and stabilizes the whole profile.

SteelPUR® thermal reinforcements are also used in solid mullions profiles of multi-section windows,

in flying mullion profiles

as well as in static mullion profiles for large constructions where enhanced profile rigidity is required.

SteelPUR® reinforcements used in solid and flying mullions allow for multi-section windows to achieve passive insulation parameters.

MS evolution [passive], as well as the basic MS evolution windows are fitted with the SUPERtermo Ug=0.5 W/m2K triple glass in standard.

MS evolution [passive] are in standard fitted with SteelPUR® reinforcements and composite warm edge spacers CHROMATECH ultra, available in 6 different colours.

MS warm edge spacers: MS beyond uses tinned stainless steel spacers as standard for all windows. Steel spacers provide much better thermal insulation properties than industry-standard aluminium spacers.

Comfort fittings package: Austrian MACO Multi-Matic gear, automatic lifting mechanism to facilitate closing, fail-safe to prevent tilted window from being shut by wind, handle-operated microventilation, sash-lifter, handle mishandling device and security striker plate compatible with the iS locking cams.

Security fittings package: in addition to the Comfort fittings package, all windows are fitted in standard with the Security package – two additional security striker plates (3 in total) and Secustic security system handles that prevents against opening window from the outside.

METZ Secustic handles: German Hoppe handles with the Secustic security system that prevents against opening window from the outside by bumping locking cams in the espagnolette or drilling through the profile to access the lock. METZ handle is exclusive for MS beyond in the Polish market.

Anti-burglary chamber: standard half-rounded profile of the sash makes it more difficult to break-in through the window, by preventing the burglar from prying open the window using a straight tool (e.g. large screwdriver) inserted between sash and frame.

Thread-thin” welds: foiled windows are welded with a limitation of 0.2mm, thanks to which welds in the foiled MS beyond windows are as thin as a thread.

Welded gaskets: technology developed over many years by MS beyond, to ensure proper weathertightness and look of rubber gaskets in the corners.

Cool*Color woodgrain foils: advanced uPVC foils shielding window profiles against excessive heat absorption from the sun - a very important factor if window is manufactured using the composite reinforcements technology.

Reinforcements for arched and round windows: arched and rounded MS beyond windows are always fitted with steel reinforcements, both in sash and frame profiles.

Glued-in glazing units: technology that ensures proper stability for oversize and veneered windows. Glazing units are fixed using a 2 component silicone glue by a Swiss company SIKA.

Cill profile: also known as installation or transport profile. PVC profile used for transportation and often for installation, always fitted to the bottom of the window and increasing o/a window height by 30mm.

MS evolution windows OPTIONAL FEATURES:

SteelPUR composite reinforcement: unique patented solution of profile reinforcements, a combination of steel, composite and PU foam

Security fittings, resistance class RC-1: certified to PN-EN 1627:2011. Security fittings protecting against break-in by a random, unprepared perpetrator (typically 4 security striker plates per sash). Button or key operated handle with resistance of at least 100Nm required.

Security fittings, resistance class RC-2: certified to PN-EN 1627:2011. Security fittings protecting against break-in by a prepared perpetrator equipped with basic tools such as: screwdrivers, wedges, hammer, spanners etc. (minimum 4 security striker plates per sash). Button or key operated handle with resistance of at least 100Nm required.

Reed-relays: integrated sensors that detect opening of the window and are connected to the central alarm or heating system. Reed-relays are concealed in the windows and invisible from both inside and outside - technology developed by MS beyond.

Concealed hinges: fittings with no visible butt hinges and the most advanced of MACO fittings. Concealed hinges can be used in combination with the warm aluminium mobility thresholds and handle operated stays.

Handle-operated sash stays: mechanism that allows to secure an opened sash in any position by operating the handle. The required minimum hinge groove width is 730mm (846mm overall window width for a single sash window, 823mm from edge of frame to the mullion centre line for double sash window or 812mm for flying mullions). Handle-operated sash stays can be used in combination with the warm aluminium mobility thresholds and concealed hinges.

Balcony latch: a set of two elements (a latch and a grip) that allows to keep balcony doors (handles from inside only) in a closed position without locking the door from the inside.

Custodian Lock: locking mechanism allowing the window to tilt, but no to turn. Useful as child protection or in public institutions. The window can only be fully opened for cleaning using a key (e.g. by cleaning staff in a public institution or an adult in a private home)

GEZE mechanism: lever operated system that allows to tilt-open a window fitted high above the floor level.

Aluminium mobility threshold: warm, weather-tight and aesthetic threshold for balcony, entrance and terrace doors. Only 20mm high, made of thermally-broken aluminium and fully weather-sealed. Suitable for wheelchair access.

Grey gaskets: colour similar to RAL 7035 (Lichtgrau)

Radio operated top-mounted shutters: Using a programmable remote control it is possible to set time operation for each shutter in the house without the need of investing in an expensive central control system.

Insect Screens: simple and effective protection against insects. Made using aluminium profiles corner-jointed in the same manner as aluminium windows.

PSK (patio): a slide and tilt  window or balcony door. Sash can be tilted or opened by sliding the sash parallel to the fixed part. In PSK 130 and 160 sash is pulled by a handle, while in the 200Z variant the process is semi-automated and integrated with the handle mechanism.

PS (NEW!): similar to PSK, however without the tilt-in option. Instead, it is possible to micro-ventilate around the whole sash and keep the 4-point locking engaged at the same time. PS can be used in combination with the aluminium mobility threshold.

HS MS iD Design: heavy-duty lift and slide doors available in widths up to 6 meters. Panels slide on separate parallel tracks or one of the panels is fixed.

Terrace doors: light uPVC doors used as an exit onto a terrace or a back door to a house. In standard fitted with handle operated multi-point cam espagnolette. Optional hinges up to 100kg load bearing capacity, mobility aluminium threshold or multi-point security espagnolettes with hooks.

Handle operated door espagnolette: type of door espagnolette where locking points are engaged by pulling the handle upwards. Turning the key locks the possibility to disengage locking points by pressing the handle. Especially recommended for uPVC doors as it is easy to use and greatly facilitates closing.

Aerofix: auxiliary ventilation mechanism allowing to tilt the window for a few millimetres only. Fitted beside the handle.ClimAcive Plus (NEW!): concealed ventilation mechanism with optional manual air-flow adjustment. Fitted in the space between sash and frame.

Blind handle: detachable handle with self-blanking escutcheon. Especially recommended for use on buildings where windows should be opened by authorized personnel only.

Dowel holes: factory drilled dowel holes to facilitate mounting. Available diameters: 6.5mm, 8.5mm, 10.5mm

Glazing options:

sealed units SUPERtermoESG: triple glazing sealed unit with 3mm toughened (ESG) glass and coloured CHROMATECH ultra warm edge spacers: 3termoESG-18Argon-3floatESG-18Argon-3termoESG. Supplied by Press-Glass. Declared Ug=0,6 W/m²K as per PN-EN 673:2011; total energy transmission (solar factor) g=50% and light transmission L=71% as per PN-EN 410:2011.

CHROMATECH ultra: coloured composite warm edge spacers. Manufactured by Roll-Tech (Denmark), made of stainless steel and composite material. SUPERtermo glazing with CHROMATECH ultra spacers supplied by Press-Glass achieve Ug=0.6 W/m²K as per PN-EN 673:2011; manufactured by MS beyond achieve Ug=0.5 W/m²K as per PN-EN 674:2011.

Swisspacer V (SWS-V) – coloured composite warm edge spacers supplied by Saint-Gobain. Made of polyester-fibreglass composite coated with stainless steel foil.

Security glass: laminated glass (VSG, two sheets of 4mm glass glued with 4 layers of PVB foil), resistance class P4A as per PN-EN 356: 2000 (required for windows in security class RC 2)

Safety glass: laminated glass (VSG, two sheets of 3mm glass glued with two layers of PVB foil), resistance class 2B2 or P2A as per PN-EN 356:2000 (in case of P2A, 4mm sheets of glass). Purpose of safety glazing is to protect against body harm in case of accidental breakage.

Acoustic glass: laminated glass built exactly the same way as safety or security glass, but with PVB foil of much higher sound insulation properties (safety class remains unchanged).

Obscure glazing: ornamental glazing with a printed pattern. Obscure glazing lets light through, but distorts the picture (often used in bathroom windows).

Internal bars: aluminium grids fitted inside sealed units: white, silver and gold 7,5mm wide or 18, 26 and 45mm in matching veneers or RAL colours.

Stick-on bars: simulated divided lights, fitted on the surface of internal and external glass, and duplex bars fitted inside sealed units for the best visual effect. Available widths: 25, 45 and 75mm in matching veneers or RAL colours.

Duplex bars: fitted in between glass panes in a sealed units, beneath the stick-on bars to achieve the visual effect of a divided glass pane. Standard solution for all panes with stick-on bars.

GLOSSARY OF BASIC TERMS

class A: uPVC profiles with external wall thickness of no less than 2.8mm, and internal wall thickness no less than 2.5mm as per PN-EN 12608:2004

class B: uPVC profiles with external wall thickness of no less than 2.5mm, and internal wall thickness no less than 2.0mm as per PN-EN 12608:2004

coex: uPVC profile extrusion technology involving simultaneous extrusion of different uPVC mixes in one profile. Technology used by MS Beyond to prevent excessive heat absorption of external sash and frame sides in veneered windows – external profile walls of coloured profiles are extruded in white (with exception of the MS evolution system). In some profile systems external walls of white profiles are co-extruded in brown for external veneering (not used by MS due to negative influence of increased external profile temperature on window longevity). Co-extrusion is also used to incorporate recycled uPVC into internal (invisible) walls of the profiles. This pro-ecological process does not affect the quality of the windows in any negative way, and allows to sustainably recycle uPVC material numerous times.

reference window: single sash window 1230 x 1480mm, used as comparison basis for calculating resultant heat transfer coefficient Uw for the whole window.

reference window O34: double sash window 1465 x 1435mm, used by MS beyond as comparison basis for calculating resultant heat transfer coefficient Uw for the whole window.

woodgrain veneers (foils): wide array of uPVC decorative foils, based on the latest Cool*Colours solution that prevents excessive heat absorption caused by the sun. External walls of non-white base profiles used by MS beyond are co-extruded in white, in order to limit the amount of absorbed heat - a very important factor if window is manufactured using the composite reinforcements technology.

half-flush sash: type of window sash, where external side of the profile is rounded and partially flush with the frame. The protruding sash element provides additional protection for the gasket and makes breaking in by jemmying the sash more difficult.

Solid mullion: vertical frame element dividing the window into separate smaller sections. Upon opening the window, solid mullion remains in the frame.

Flying mullion: vertical sash element fitted to a passive sash of a double window. Provides weather-sealing. Upon opening both sashes, frame remains unobstructed.

Transom: horizontal frame element dividing the window into separate smaller sections. Upon opening the window, transom remains in the frame.

Static mullions and couplers: mullions and couplers reinforced with stronger steel profiles to provide adequate window statics.

Solid bar: sash construction element dividing one large pane of glass into two separate smaller units. Available solid bars are 70mm (only white) and 90mm (any window-matching colour).

Entry door: heavy-duty uPVC door reinforced with closed steel profiles and weldable corner joints for adequate rigidity and durability. In standard fitted with aluminium mobility thresholds, 120kg load bearing hinges and handle operated MACO PROTECT multipoint hook espagnolettes. Other espagnolette types available as options.

Door panels: door infill panel used instead of glass. Wide range of available designs – from flat (white and coloured) to an array of moulded decorative panels with ornamental glazing.

Terrace door: light uPVC doors used as an exit onto a terrace or a back door to a house. In standard fitted with handle operated multi-point cam espagnolette. Optional hinges up to 100kg load bearing capacity, mobility aluminium threshold or security espagnolettes with hooks.

Door espagnolette: multi-point door locking system. Either cams (same as in windows) or hooks can be used as locking points. Available options include: 4-point, automatic and auxiliary lock variants.

Handle operated door espagnolette: type of door espagnolette where locking points are engaged by pulling the handle upwards. Turning the key locks the possibility to disengage locking points by pressing the handle. Especially recommended for uPVC doors as it is easy to use and greatly facilitates closing.

Key operated door espagnolette: type of door espagnolette where locking points are engaged by turning the key (traditional way). When locking the door, multi-point lock has to press the sash against the gaskets, which may cause a noticeable resistance while turning the key.

Automatic door espagnolette: type of door espagnolette where locking points are engaged automatically when sash is closed. Locking and unlocking is performed by turning the key, same as in key operated door espagnolette.

Ug: heat transfer coefficient for glazing (or another infill type)

Uf: heat transfer coefficient for the opaque window elements (window and sash frame)

Ψ: (Psi) linear heat transfer coefficient at the joint of glass and frame. Psi influences thermal performance of the whole window.

Uw: resultant heat transfer coefficient for the whole window combining all the above factors.
