One of the main features that raise the standard of windows is the type of panes applied. They have a definite role to play. They are expected to protect the building from heat loss, noise and burglary.
Having its own modern process line for pane manufacturing, MS is able to offer you a large range of products to suit the individual taste: heat-insulating panes, burglarproof panes and a rich choice of pane texture and colour designs. MS panes can be made in any shape and size.
Along our state of the art process line glass cutting, washing, joining and sealing as well as filling it with gas is fully automated. This guarantees the best quality of the MS beyond WINDOWS panes.
All standard versions of MS windows are delivered with the thermo pane characterized by the thermal conductivity coefficient U=1.0 W/m 2K (PN-EN 674:1999) and Rw >= 33dB (PN-EN-20140-3:1999) that ensures good noise protection.
They reduce heat loss in our flats, houses and institution buildings. The inter-pane space is filled with argon which stops heat exchange between the inside and outside of the building. In addition, the use of the thermo float pane with its silver layer helps keep more warmth inside during winter, and keep the flat cooler during summer. The lower the U-value, the less heat is lost. Panes that keep heat inside have the U-value of 1.0 W/m 2K (PN-EN 674:1999) or lower.
The 1.0 thermo pane (PN-EN 674:1999) consists of two panes of glass separated by an edge spacer, and the outer pane is coated with a silver layer that reduces heat loss.
The 0.5 SUPERthermo pane (PN-EN 674:1999) consists of three panes of glass separated by MS Warm Edge Spacers. The spacers contain an absorbent picking up moisture from between the panes through its micropores (perforation in the visible part of the spacer). The outer panes have a thermo coating that additionally reflects heat. That is why the flat is warmer in winter and cooler in summer. Better insulation (less heat loss and better soundproofing) is guaranteed by argon filling the space between the panes. The whole set has two-level sealing: with butyl and polyurethane (or thiorubber).
The combination of the thermo pane and the MS Thermal System allows us to considerably cut heating costs. Depending on the type of pane, we can determine energy consumption for a selected fuel:
| thermal conductivity coefficient U=W/m 2K | methane-rich natural gas m3 | electric energy kWh | hard coal kg | furnace oil kg |
| U=3.0 | 43.9 | 378 | 88.62 | 37.89 |
| U=1.6 | 23.41 | 201.6 | 47.26 | 20.26 |
| U=1.3 | 19.02 | 163.8 | 38.4 | 16.46 |
| thermo pane U=1,0 | 16.1 | 138.6 | 32.49 | 13.93 |
| SUPERthermo pane U=0,5 | 8,05 | 69,3 | 16,24 | 6,96 |
Burglarproof panes are recommended for installation anywhere there is a need for improved protection against burglary, including schools, firm premises and banks. Burglarproof panes are produced by applying several layers of special protective foil between thickened panes of glass. The efficiency of such pane sets depends on the number of foil layers.
These panes are recommended for installation wherever noise is disturbing you. In general terms, the thicker the glass used in the set, the better soundproofing it provides. Soundproof panes should be characterized by the highest possible coefficient of sound insulation Rw [dB] (PN-EN-20140-3:1999).

Many window manufacturers deliver aluminium edge spacers. As a result, the edges of the combined panes create a heat leakage bridge leading to heat loss on the way from the warm inner pane to the cold outer pane. In order to curb this phenomenon, each MS pane comes complete with the MS Warm Edge Spacer.
The steel edge spacer yields a five-fold improvement in heat insulation compared with the standard aluminium spacers. The dew point is shifted so that the effect of steam condensing on the inner side of the pane is largely reduced. What is more, the MS Warm Edge Spacers are 40% thinner than the standard aluminium spacers and thus they enhance the windows’ aesthetic qualities.
The producer reserves the right to introduce technical amendments to the products without prior notification.
